Rules & Regulations

All participants must have previously submitted a valid swimming certificate to the school. 
Those without valid certificate (but able to swim), you are required to produce a Parent's Letter to allow you to take part in the swim relat and/or mass swim.
 
Students presently in the Swimming Proficiency Programme and have yet to achieve the proficiency WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE to participate in the Mass Swim.
 
Students must only wear SWIMMING TRUNKS/TIGHTS. NO BOARD SHORTS, SPORTS SHORTS OR SWIMSUITS WILL BE ALLOWED. Goggles are optional.
 
Each class must assign one student as the Security Manager (non-swimming) who will be responsible for the safekeeping of valuables and belongings for his class.
 
ALL swimmers will be given a safety briefing prior to their event. Relay Swimmers, please be reminded to arrive at the swimming pool earlier.
 
Every swimmer who completes a lap will be given a rubber band to indicate the completion of a lap. If he completes 5 laps, he would have a total of 5 rubber bands. Every student is given 45 min to complete as many laps as possible and the corresponding award will be given to him. The Finisher Medal will be awarded in school in TERM 2.
 
Participants are strongly advised to have a heavy breakfast or recess on the day of the event. They may wish to bring something light to eat on their way to the venue.
 
All participants who meet the minimum requirements for the awards will be presented with a Finisher Medal.
 
CRITERIA FOR THE AWARDS
SEC 1 (50M POOL)
Gold Award            - 750m  (15 laps)
Silver Award          - 500m  (10 laps)
Bronze Award       -  250m  (5 laps)

SEC 2 (50M POOL)
Gold Award            - 750m  (15 laps)
Silver Award          - 500m  (10 laps)
Bronze Award       -  250m  (5 laps) 

SEC 3 (50M POOL)
Gold Award            - 1000m  (20 laps)
Silver Award          - 750m    (15 laps)
Bronze Award       -  500m    (10 laps) 

SEC 4 (50M POOL)
Gold Award            - 1000m  (20 laps)
Silver Award          - 750m    (15 laps)
Bronze Award       -  500m    (10 laps)
 

 
Note: All mass swim participants will be given 45min to complete as many laps as he can.
 
 
SCORING
Each class will be awarded one point for each participant. If the class has at least 15 participants and not including the relay team, the class will receive an additional 20 bonus points.
